Dr. Issa Karkar - Founder, CEO, & Director

An innovative cosmetic, reconstructive, and implant dentist directing a part-time practice located in San Francisco, Dr. Karkar is an internationally-recognized leader and pioneer in the field of computerized and implant dentistry. In addition to being inPronto’s CEO, Dr. Karkar provides the vision and solution expertise for the company while also serving as practitioner liaison and leader of strategic relationship development. He lectures worldwide on CAD/CAM dentistry and implants and is accredited as an Advanced CAD and Clinical Instructor for Siemens/Sirona. Dr Karkar is founder of The Institute of Digital Dentistry in San Francisco, served seven years as a Board Member for the Academy of Computerized Dentistry, is currently on the Board of Directors of the Italian Academy of Computerized Dentistry, held the position of Associate Clinical Professor in the Implantology Program of the Alameda County Medical Center as well as Associate Clinical Professor at the Branemark International Academy. Dr. Karkar holds a DDS from the University of California at San Francisco and a BS in Biochemistry and Computer Science from the University of San Francisco.

Paul Karkar - Founder, COO, & Director

A senior executive with more than twenty-two years of leadership in both public and private companies, Mr. Karkar was the founder & COO at DDRnet, Inc. (dba Surecircle), a leading automated administrator of employer self-funded dental benefits, and an experienced Director of Program Management at SAVI Technology, a leading provider of RFID and AIDC solutions & products. At Karkar International, an international value-added distributor of modern dental implants and industrialized dental prosthetics, he was the VP of International Business Development, where he introduced the Branemark System® exclusively to the Middle East market. Mr. Karkar holds a BS in Engineering from the University of San Francisco.


Miguel Arias - Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Arias was Founder and CEO of Prefixa International, a manufacturer of 3-D machine vision cameras for industrial inspection. At Prefixa, he put together a team to develop new 3-D algorithms, 3-D camera solutions and FPGA-based algorithm acceleration, delivering accurate and fast surface inspection. Mr. Arias has worked previously as a researcher in computer science at INAOE-Mexico and LVSN-Canada. As a researcher, he contributed 3-D algorithms and FPGA architecture for computer vision. He has published over 80 papers, holds several patents and is involved in a major industry-academia projects. Mr. Arias holds a Ph.D. from the Université Laval (Quebec, Canada).


Charlie Wen - Founder, & Former CTO

Mr. Wen has served as Co-Founder, Director, President, and CTO of OrthoClear, a dental device company based on his invention. He subsequently held the position of CTO of Align Technology where he built the R&D team and launched the Invisalign System where 50 patents were filed leading to a successful IPO. Mr. Wen developed and advanced 3-D visual effects at Image Works for major blockbuster films, and further exclusively developed leading 3-D visualization and performance improvements for PATRAN (MSC Software Corporation) as well as visualization tools for COSMOS/M at Structural Research & Analysis Corporation. Mr. Wen holds a MS-EECS from the California Institute of Technology.


Grant Saviers - Founder, Director & Advisor

Grant Saviers is a private investor and director of several successful private and public companies. He is a retired President, CEO & Chairman of Adaptec where he grew revenues six fold to $1B. Previously at Digital Equipment Corporation, a $4B highly profitable hardware business grown from zero over 22 years, Mr. Saviers served as VP of Storage and Peripherals and then as VP of Personal Computers, a restart growing to $350M in 18 months. He currently serves as Director of Analog Devices and as a Trustee of the Computer History Museum. Mr. Saviers has a BS and an MS in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and has completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
